Earth Day Collection

Celebrated on the 22nd April every year since 1970, Earth Day began as a grassroots demonstration to raise awareness of environmental issues like global warming and pollution.

The theme for Earth Day 2024 is “Planet vs Plastics”, promoting the 60×40 initiative which aims to reduce the production of all plastics by 60% by 2040.

We’re proud of our commitment to sustainability here at Kathryn Callaghan Fine Art, in everything from composting our kitchen waste to choosing frames for prints and paintings!

In 2022, we committed to removing as much plastic as possible from our packaging, and now everything we use is card based and/or recyclable, except for what we re-use from other deliveries! We encourage you to think about how best you can re-use our packaging too – we invest in sturdy boxes so that you can hopefully get a few uses out of them too. Best of all, we’ve been able to prioritise the environment without letting our standards of security in transit slip – in fact, our packaging is more secure than ever!

And while we all work together to keep our planet a healthy and happy place to be, it's important to remember all of the beautiful reasons why we should care for our world. We put together a collection of artwork inspired by the beauty and wonder of nature, in the hopes that it inspires you to take action this Earth Day!

Landscapes

Daniel Day-Lewis called Ireland “a place for the renewal of hope”. We’re so lucky on this island to be surrounded by the most phenomenal nature – if ever there was a place to reconnect with the power of the earth, it’s by an Irish coast!

Animals

It’s their home as well as ours! From the peace of the most delicate butterfly to the raucous party at the bird table, every one of these creatures has been chosen for this collection because, sadly, their populations are endangered or threatened by human impact on their habitats.

Flowers

Finally, what could better represent our hopes for the future of our planet than flowers? Poppies, daffodils, fuchsia, an entire wild garden: flowers represent hope and resilience in adversity – what better symbol for these trying times?

And finally...
