Bee Flower

This painting was inspired by one of summer’s smallest, most perfect moments: spotting a bee mid-flight as it makes its way to a flower, lit up by warm sunshine like a tiny piece of moving gold. There’s something instantly uplifting about it… that gentle, familiar sign that the season is in full swing, with colour everywhere and life humming along at its happiest pace.

I love how bees bring a scene to life without even trying. They’re busy, purposeful, and almost joyful in the way they hover and dart, as if the air itself is part of the dance. With this close-up view, my intention was to pull you right into that moment, close enough that, when you look at the bee, you can almost hear the buzz of its wings and feel that bright, summery stillness all around it.

The colours play a big role in that feeling too. The vivid blooms, the warm highlights, the lifted tones… they’re my way of capturing the glow of a sunny day in paint, and the simple beauty of nature doing what it does best: being wild, bright, and full of energy.
