The Quiet Of Strings
Where mythology and music meet...
"How better to evoke feelings of ancient Ireland than through the harp. The strumming of the strings and the elegant motions of the hands are mesmerizingly engaging. This piece is about following your imagination and dreams."

Inspiration
This painting was inspired by the bright, ethereal melody of the Irish harp, the kind of sound that seems to quieten even the busiest thoughts. This piece shows a harpist mid-song, caught in that gentle moment where music becomes a kind of refuge.
The harp is one of Irelandโs most enduring symbols, but it also carries something more elusive, a link to mythology, ancient tales, and the fantasy of old Ireland. With The Quiet Of Strings, my hope is that the scene quietly stirs your own sense of story: a half-remembered legend, a place you once visited, or a feeling you canโt quite name but instantly recognise.
This piece is part of a series of eight Irish musical artists, collectively inspired by the lively, mesmerising traditional music found across Irelandโs cosy pubs. The monochrome palette and faceless subjects are intentional, leaving space for you to bring your own details into the work. Rather than prescribing one specific moment, I wanted the painting to act as a doorway back to your own memories of being wrapped up in music with other people.
