Description
Midnight Dreams was painted using a breathtaking array of glowing deep blues, delicate pinks, and electric oranges, all lifted by energised neon pink. A spray of tulips stretch into the serene night sky in this piece, which has proved a showstopper over and over again to all those who see it in person.
Painted on an awe-inspiring 100x120cm (approx. 39x47in) canvas, Midnight Dreams does not require a frame, and to further emphasise the vibrance of this unique canvas, its edges have been painted in the complimentary neon pink featured throughout, resulting in a magical glow against whatever wall you choose to hang it upon!
What makes an original floral painting by Kathryn unique?
Kathryn uses a unique pouring technique to create her paintings, which creates a contact-free approach to making her artwork. ย Black ink is mixed with gel to create a new material which offers a new and unusual finish. ย The mix is poured from mid-air from an open neck bottle – much like pouring honey onto toast or olive oil onto bread. ย The finish is a textured, glossy image set against a smooth white board. Her newest series of paintings takes a step further by including a serene gradient background to the main subject of the piece, lifting the florals and birds to life.
With no sketch underneath the painting, this freeform technique allows Kathryn to create truly original, organic pieces that are full of life and energy. ย The result is captivating and often evocative of how we feel about the subject in our minds. ย It is this ‘feeling’ that Kathryn strives to achieve through her work that gives it such resonance with collectors far and wide.
